There is a particular quiet that arrives at thirty. It is not the quiet of exhaustion, though exhaustion may be part of it. It is not the quiet of resignation, though you may recognize some of its shape. It is the quiet that follows the first full turn of Saturn through the sky of your own life — the moment the astrological traditions across centuries have recognized as a threshold, a crystallization, the hour when patterns that operated invisibly begin at last to show their faces.
